Externally, the cottages look much the same as when they were first built – though we have brightened up the colours. It’s a wonder they are not heritage listed!

Internally, they are very comfy with television, DVD players, microwave, full kitchen, heater and fans. Each cottage has a deck where you can sit and watch the kangaroos graze. Basic wood fired barbecues are also provided.

All of our cottages are rated 3 stars with AAA Tourism.

If you think the environment of the Durras North area is beautiful, that’s only half the story. The marine environment here is just as spectacular! Grab a mask and snorkel to experience some of the best snorkeling areas on the South Coast. There are many sheltered rock platforms nearby and at Depot and Pebbly beaches. For scuba divers, it is possible to park your car and “rock hop” many spots as well. Of course, weather and ocean conditions must always be considered before undertaking this activity.

The following snorkelling and diving information is courtesy of Eurobodalla Tourism.

Durras Lake North Holiday Park is close to the pristine waters of the Batemans Marine Park, home to exotically coloured fish, glowing jellyfish, big cruising rays, waving sponge beds and lush green kelp forests.

The Batemans Marine Park is located between the north end of Murramarang Beach near Bawley Point and Wallaga Lake on the NSW south coast and includes all of the seabed and waters from mean high water mark on the coast to three nautical miles offshore.

It includes all estuaries, creeks, rivers and lakes (except Nargal Lake) to the limit of tidal influence, and covers an area of approximately 85,000 hectares. The marine park contains a diverse range of habitats, including continental shelf sea-fl oor with sponge gardens, beaches, rocky shores, kelp beds, coralline algal banks, rocky reefs, islands, seagrass, mangroves, and estuarine habitats. Each habitat supports a different community of animals and plants, some of which, like the grey nurse shark, require special protection. Download the Batemans Marine Park User Guide (2.06MB PDF) for more information.
