On this page you’ll find all the details about our park facilities, guidelines and booking terms.

We want everyone to enjoy their time here without overloading you with too many rules.

Kangaroo Cafe and Park Office

Located at the entrance to our holiday park, the Kangaroo Cafe provides a variety of goods.

It also serves as our park office. If the shop/office is closed and you are after accommodation, there is an office intercom adjacent to the front door of the shop.

Shop Opening Hours

Christmas School Holidays – Open daily from 8.30am to 4.00pm.
Other School Hols – Open daily from 8.30am to 4.00pm 
Popular weekends (outside of school holidays) – Usually 8.30am to 4.00pm – Early Sunday close if no one around.

Apart from helping out our guests in the park, the shop is normally closed in Autumn & Winter between the April and September NSW school holidays. Please phone us on 4478 6072 to check.

Office Hours

Our office hours are from 9.00am until 5.00pm.  If shop/office is unattended, please push the blue intercom at the front door of the shop or find one of our staff in the park.

Check In Procedure

If the shop/office is closed upon arrival, look at our late arrivals board for an envelope with your keys. This is adjacent to the front door of the shop.  With your keys will be a map of the park identifying the location of your accommodation.

There is also a blue intercom button at the shop door if you need us at all or if there is no key left out for you. If you are a late arrival, please make contact with us the following morning so we can check you in and brief you on some features of the park and surrounds.

Surfboard Hire

Beginner soft-sided surfboards are available for hire or purchase from the office. Great fun!

Internet Access and Wi-Fi

We DO NOT provide a Wi-Fi service for our guests.
Mobile phones have good 4G/5G line-of-sight connections with the two towers at South Durras (Telstra, Optus/Vodafone)

DVD Hire

We also have a small DVD library at $4 per movie.

Amenities Block

The Amenities Block is located in the centre of the park. It includes includes showers, basins, toilets and a laundry. Children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult whilst in the amenities block. The hot showers are coin operated.

Access

Access to the Amenities Block is by key only which is available at the shop for a $10 refundable deposit. (Possum Cabin has a key with the cabin keys.)
 

 
Showers

There is a charge of a $1 coin per shower for a period of approximately 4 minutes. A $1 coin for 4 minutes. This is a water conservation measure as we are not on town water. Children are not permitted to play in or around the amenities block. A free outdoor rinsing shower is located outside the amenities block. Cold water only.
 

 

 
Laundry

Washing machines and driers are available in the Amenities Block. They are coin operated requiring $1 coins. An ironing board and iron is available from the shop. Pegs are provided in the cottages and cabins.
 

 

Water : Drinking, Rain and Bore

Fresh rain water is limited – so please do not use too much.

Drinking (potable) water taps (marked blue) are in the centre of the campground (between sites P2 & P3), at camping site V78, at caravan site V65 and at the large concrete tank outside the Amenities building. 

Drinking Water is also available from all cold taps in the wash basins in the Amenities building.

A mixture of Drinking water and Rain tank water (marked green) is provided to the cottages and cabins.  Rain tank water should be boiled prior to drinking, just to be sure. 

Bottled drinking water is available from the shop if desired.

Bore water (from an underground source) is used for the Amenities hot water (basin & showers), all toilets, washing machines, general area taps and fire hoses, and is not guaranteed suitable for drinking.

Park Guidelines

Kangaroos and other Native Wildlife

Please note the kangaroos, possums, goannas and other native animals are not domesticated and as such, their behaviour can be unpredictable. At no times are these visitors to our park to be annoyed.

Please do not feed the kangaroos as dependency causes aggression and endangers small children.  Also, incorrect diet causes sickness.

National Park Entrance Fee

Between the highway and Durras North, you will pass a pay station for the National Park. You do not have to buy an entrance ticket unless you intend to drive to nearby Pebbly Beach or use the NPWS car park at Depot Beach. If you are unsure, just ask us upon arrival.

Parking and Vehicles

There are allocated parking spaces close to all cabins and cottages. We also have space available for boats and trailers during your stay.

Speed Limit

There is a speed limit of 10km/h on all roads within the park.  Normal road rules apply in the park.  Please follow the one-way signs and drive counter-clockwise in the campground.

Bicycles

A bike helmet must be worn whilst riding in the park. Riding of bikes at night is not permitted.

Camping Sites

Please stay within your campsite boundary. If you have a powered site, take special care with your power lead. Avoid placing your lead where vehicles may cross over it or others may trip.

No Generators allowed.  No caravan/motor-home air-conditioners after 7pm

Fires and Firewood

Fires must not be lit except in provided fireplaces. Firewood is available from the shop. Large fires are not permitted. Fires must be supervised at all times by the presence of an adult.

Noise

No amplified music in the campground at all.  General noise must be kept to a minimum after 10pm each evening (children need to sleep).

Offensive behaviour or rowdy parties will not be tolerated.

If you are arriving late, or departing early, please remember that others will be trying to rest/sleep.

If you are having visitors, they must leave the park by 10pm or you will be charged an overnight fee.

Pet dogs and cats

  • No dogs are allowed in the campground
  • No dogs are allowed for guests in any of the rented cottages or cabins
  • Cats are not allowed anywhere, anytime, in the park

Children

Do not leave your children unsupervised in the park or cabins/cottages. Children under the age of 10 years MUST be accompanied by an adult whilst in the amenities block.

Rubbish

All rubbish to be placed in bins provided around the park and at back of the Amenities block. Please use yellow lidded bins for recyclable material. At all times, ‘Do the Right Thing’.

Fish Cleaning

Please clean them where you catch them. All fish scraps must be wrapped, before placing in the bins.

Smoking

Absolutely no smoking allowed inside any of the cottages, cabins and amenities block. Please dispose of your butts properly.

Risk Warning – Trees

Being under or near trees may be dangerous and could cause injury or material loss.   To mitigate these risks, we periodically, and at least annually, inspect our trees to identify and rectify problems.  However, trees can drop limbs, or entire trees can fall, without warning and there is no way of determining when.  Thus, occupants and guests must accept these risks as inherent to being outdoors, and around the trees in our park.

Risk Warning – Activities

The management wishes to warn occupants, guests and other persons who engage in any physical recreational activity, within the meaning of the Civil Liability Act 2002, in, or near the park, that the pursuit of such activities may result in harm or personal injury.  All person who engage in a physical recreational activity do so at their own risk and should exercise their own judgement with respect to risks and their mitigation.
