Time to upgrade our kayak rental fleet. We have just purchased some new Hobie Kayaks for hire on Durras Lake. So now we have four double and two single kayaks for hire. We only use Hobie kayaks as we believe they are the best quality available for this purpose.
Though there was nothing wrong with the old boats, we like to keep our fleet looking top class. The new models have slight improvements particularly with regards to stability.
The biggest hurdle to getting the new kayaks was the paperwork involved. We have a Kayak hire and drive licence issued the Australian Maritime Safety Board. Obviously safety is a big factor so everything needed to be in place for the approval of the new boats.
When renting a kayak from us, all equipment is included. Lifejackets, comfortable padded seats, paddles, dry bags and a trolley to transport the kayak the short distance to Durras Lake.
The kayaks are available for 2 hours or the whole day. Exploring Durras Lake by kayak is highly recommended. The Lake is part of the Batemans Marine Park and it is totally surrounded by the Murramarang National Park.
