Tuesday 3 December 2019
The park is in good condition thanks to the great effort of the NPWS Rangers, the RFS Volunteers and the NSW Forestry workers. The ground teams and the fire bombers worked together wonderfully to protect our park and the on-site vans. THANK YOU.
The fire was west of the Princes Hwy but late on Sunday night on the 1st December it crossed to the east near Cockwhy Creek.
The RFS crews worked through the nights – like defending the East Lynne service station (source: abc.net.au)
The planes did a great job when the ground crews were forced to withdraw. The fire front was on our northern boundary, down at the creek, and was going to travel south and straight up the hill through the whole park to Durras Road.

Update: 4 Dec – Back burning continues down the bottom at Kangaroo Flat
And now the all important question: What time is the cafe open for coffee?
Oh dear. We gonna need a new sign!
We are all safe and sound and OPEN FOR BUSINESS from Tuesday 10th December
And once again a big thank-you to the NPWS Rangers, the RFS Volunteers including our local, and very, tired Depot Beach Brigade, and the NSW Forestry workers.
