We have a guest soon arriving from Sydney. As always, we were curious about how they knew about Durras North. (After all it is a secret!). Apparently we are rated as one of the best campsites near Sydney according to The Concrete Playground which is an “online weather vane pointing you to the cultural tornadoes that are just about to hit. We handpick the most inspiring cultural events, news and places so that you can fill your days and nights with them.”
We were at number 2 position. The description reads:
“This campsite is perfect if you have a foreign friend wanting a true-blue Australian adventure – you’ll be camping amongst kangaroos, possums, goannas and a million birds. Probably best to warn them though, as our overseas friends don’t seem to realise how freaking huge kangaroos actually are. There’s heaps to do here – snorkeling, surfing, canoeing and mountain bike riding as well as an open-air cinema in summer. There are hot showers and wood-powered BBQs to grill the fish you’ve caught too.”
The only thing they got wrong was our price. (Must be used to Sydney prices perhaps). For most of the year, a campsite is just $25 for two persons. Not $45 as reported. Imagine if they got the price right. We would have been ranked first instead of second best campsite near Sydney.
